Our Confession of Faith
**Every BTR teacher has verbally committed to these faith statements. As a non-denominational ministry, we encourage local churches to search the Scriptures, proclaim Jesus as Lord, admonish and teach toward maturity.
TRINITY:
We believe in the one and only God who has revealed Himself to us in His work of creation, The Holy Scriptures, and through Jesus Christ His Son. Scripture References: Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 43:10-11, Matthew 28:19, Luke 3:22.
GOD THE FATHER:
We believe in God the Father, the Creator, Preserver and sustainer of the whole creation, who in His divine majesty is infinitely exalted above all creation. Scripture references: 1 Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 4:6, Malachi 2:10.
JESUS CHRIST:
We believe Jesus Christ, true God and true man, came into the world, lived a sinless life, was crucified, died and was buried, the third day he arose from the grave, he ascended and now sits at the right hand of God the Father making intercession for the saints until he returns to judge the living and the dead. HOLY SPIRIT:
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the promise of the Father, who draws and convicts all mankind to genuine repentance and a saving faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. We believe the baptism, fullness, fruit, and gifting’s of the Holy Spirit are still available and active in the Church today. Scripture References: Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4,8, 1 Corinthians 12:1-31.
SCRIPTURE:
We believe the Holy Scriptures are the Divinely inspired Word of God and is the only infallible authority in all matters of faith and life, making one wise unto salvation and sanctification. Scripture references: 2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21.
SALVATION OF THE LOST:
We believe mankind is lost, separated from God, and absolutely incapable of earning their salvation and healing their relationship with the Holy Triune God. We believe and teach that salvation is found in Christ alone. It is only by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ one is saved. THE CHURCH:
We believe there is a Universal Church made up of all true believers from every nation, ethnicity, and tongue. The Local Church is the body of true believers under the biblical guidance of pastors and ministers, where all are submitted unto the Father, being conformed to the image of Jesus, living in unity, loving one another, and declaring the Gospel as empowered by the Holy Spirit. CALLED TO HOLINESS:
We believe every believer is called to live a holy and faithful life as one who has been chosen by God, purchased by Jesus Christ, sanctified and set apart by the Holy Spirit. Every believer is to be a living sacrifice in view of God’s mercy. Scripture References: 1 Peter 1:14-16, 1 Peter 2:9, Matthew 5:20; Romans 12:1-2
SECOND COMING OF CHRIST:
We believe the Bible clearly teaches that Jesus will return to collect His church unto Himself. Scripture References: Zechariah 14:5, Matthew 24:27,30; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 1:7, Revelation 19:11-14, Revelation 20:1-6.
FINAL JUDGEMENT:
We believe the Scriptures clearly teach there will be an accountability of nations and individuals before the Holy Triune God. Every individual will stand before God to receive rewards for those things done in this life, whether good or bad. The righteous (good) will spend eternity with God and the saints of the ages, while the unbelieving (bad) will spend eternity separated from God.
